District of Tumbler Ridge provides resources for prospective election candidates
The District of Tumbler Ridge is offering resource for people looking to stand for the 2026 General Local Elections.

TUMBLER RIDGE, B.C. — The District of Tumbler Ridge is offering resources for people looking to stand for the upcoming municipal election.Â
According to a Facebook post on July 20, the district said pre-campaigning is starting today.
The nomination period for the 2026 General Local Election is between Sept. 1 and Sept. 11, 2026.
The post said the district election website has information, including key election dates, candidate eligibility requirements, nomination process, links to School District 59 (SD59) resources, links to campaign financing and advertising rules, signage rules and helpful provincial resources for candidates.Â
The website also has information on the Elections BC Candidate Information Session, which will be held on July 30 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will cover local rules on candidate financing and advertising.Â
In addition, the website includes information from the district’s candidate information session for prospective mayoral and councillor candidates, as well as a link to SD59’s candidate information session.Â
The district has also prepared a package of helpful provincial resources that can be picked up at the town hall, located at Iles Way.Â
