FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — All allegations against a Fort St. John veterinarian charged with sexual assault have been proved during the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia’s (CVBC) discipline committee hearing.
According to an update on CVBC’s website on June 16th, a panel of the college’s discipline committee concluded that all allegations against Justin Sewell’s citation have been proven.
Proven allegations mean the committee has determined there is sufficient and credible evidence to confirm the claims are true.
Sewell had his disciplinary hearing on June 8th for professional misconduct, conduct unbecoming of a registrant and non-compliance with the bylaws.
He pleaded guilty to charges of sexual assault, unlawfully recording intimate images and voyeurism in November 2022. He was sentenced last April to two years less a day of house arrest.
But a B.C. Court of Appeal tribunal ruled on October 14th, 2025, that his house arrest sentence be changed to a jail sentence.
Sewell was granted day parole to a community residential facility (CRF) for a period of six months by the Parole Board of Canada on April 2nd, but was denied a full parole.
