Taylor council moved to extend operating hours for Fort St. John Stock Car Club
The District of Taylor council has moved to extend operating hours for the Fort St. John Stock Car Club from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. for the remainder of the 2026 season.

TAYLOR, B.C. — The Taylor council has moved to extend operating hours for the Fort St. John Stock Car Club.Â
During the June 15th District of Taylor council meeting, the council waived the District of Taylor Noise Control Bylaw to permit the club to extend operating hours from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m.Â
This will apply to the scheduled race days for the remainder of the 2026 season:Â
- July 17th and 18th
- July 31st
- August 1st and 2nd
- September 11th and 12th
The club, in a letter addressed to the mayor and the council, noted that the council had previously approved the extended hours in 2019, but the annual renewal requirement was overlooked.Â
The letter also highlighted that race events attract participants and spectators from across the region, providing economic benefits to local businesses and amenities in Taylor.Â
The extension will provide flexibility to complete the race program, which, in the event of weather, track conditions, or safety incidents, can be delayed.Â
