Cost of gas reduces overnight but overall prices still high
Gas prices in Fort St. John have decreased a little on April 8th as Trump and Iran negotiate a possible ceasefire.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. —The price of gas in Fort St. John has reduced a little overnight as Trump and Iran start to negotiate a possible ceasefire, but the overall average price of gas is still high.
As per gas price app GasBuddy, gas prices are down 2.5 cents from yesterday, April 7th.
It says the price of unleaded gas in Fort St. John is $1.80 per litre, down from $1.83 per litre yesterday.

However, gas prices are still up 25 cents per litre when compared to last week’s average, when the price was $1.55 per litre.
The high gas price is due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East that blocked the Strait of Hormuz, which is an important route in the gas and oil supply chain.
According to an article by the BBC on April 8th, U.S. President Donald Trump said he had agreed to “suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks” if Tehran agrees to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Current gas prices in Dawson Creek are $1.83 per litre, 2.4 cents more than March 7th, when the price was $1.80 per litre.
