FIFA World Cup 2026 celebration to stop in Fort St. John
‘Canada Celebrates FIFA World Cup 2026’ will be making stops in Fort St. John on June 11th and 12th.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A Canada-wide FIFA World Cup 2026 celebration program will be making two trips to northern B.C. this summer.
‘Canada Celebrates FIFA World Cup 2026’ events will be taking place in Fort St. John on June 11th and 12th, FIFA announced in a media release.
Last month, the City of Fort St. John was granted $50,000 to host FIFA World Cup events in the city.
According to the release on april 8th, all the ‘Canada Celebrates’ events will bring football fans together for live match viewings, football-themed activations, cultural programming, music and food.
The release says ‘Canada Celebrates’ is a first-of-its-kind programme that will unite communities across the country, beyond the host cities of Vancouver and Toronto.
‘Canada Celebrates’ will stop in 34 communities across the country, including six stops in British Columbia.
Anne Kang, minister of tourism, arts, culture and sport, says the programme provided an opportunity for people across the province to enjoy the event.

“Canada Celebrates is an incredible opportunity to bring the spirit of the FIFA World Cup 2026 to communities throughout British Columbia, “ said Kang. “While Vancouver will proudly serve as a host city, we’ve already seen firsthand the excitement and impact this experience brings to fans through hosting the Canada Celebrates test event.
“This is about creating lifelong memories, strengthening community bonds and ensuring more people throughout B.C. and Canada can share in the excitement, pride and passion that defines the world’s biggest sporting event.”
The programme will run throughout the tournament, starting on June 11th in Mount Pearl Newfoundland, and ending on July 19th in Niagara Falls and Brampton, Ontario.
Canada will host 13 World Cup matches in Toronto and Vancouver.
Details of the events, such as times and venues, have yet to be announced.
