Gas prices spike overnight in Fort St. John as Middle East conflict continues
Gas prices in Fort St. John have soared again and are up 30 cents on March 31st from March 30th, standing at $1.87 per litre.
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Gas prices in Fort St. John have spiked overnight as the conflict in the Middle East continues.Â
According to the gas price app GasBuddy, gas prices in Fort St. John are up 30 cents from yesterday, March 30th.Â
The average price of unleaded gas in the city is $1.87 per litre, 30 cents more than March 30th when the average price of gas was $1.57 per litre.Â
Fort St. John’s prices have risen 38 cents since last February, when the average price of gas was $1.49 per litre.Â
Prices were driven up when the conflict in the Middle East blocked the Strait of Hormuz, which is an important route in the gas and oil supply chain.Â
In Dawson Creek, prices are up 43 cents per litre in March at $1.79 per litre compared to last month’s gas price, where the average per litre was $1.36.Â
