Hudson’s Hope Health Centre temporarily closes again amid short staffing

HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. — The health centre in Hudson’s Hope has been “temporarily closed” for the third day in less than a week. 

According to the Northern Health emergency status website, the health centre is temporarily closed on March 10th and will resume services from March 11th at 8.30 a.m. 

This comes after the centre was closed on March 6th and was to reopen on March 9th

In a written statement to Energeticcity.ca, Northern Health said: “Hudson’s Hope Health Centre is currently experiencing an interruption to its daytime, weekday emergency department services as a result of a staffing shortage.

“Services have been interrupted since Friday, March 6th.  

“Regular hours are expected to resume on Wednesday, March 11th, however staffing remains a challenge for the remainder of the week.”

The health authority said the centre is usually open from Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

It urged residents who need emergency healthcare to call 911 to connect with BC Emergency Health Services for transportation to the nearest available hospital outside opening hours.
