Over the course of the first two weeks of February, we ran our 2026 Reader Survey to learn more about what our readers want to see from our coverage moving forward. A big thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out the survey! As the largest newsroom in the region, we want to ensure our coverage fills the needs of our community. Below our some results from the survey:

For the most part, people who responded to our survey are happy with our coverage and with the amount of stories we write on a daily basis. We appreciate the positive feedback!

Another question in the survey was in regards to a new idea we had: a Reader Advisory Board. A Reader Advisory Board is a group of readers who meet regularly to discuss a newsroom’s coverage, provide feedback, and learn more about the behind-the-scenes operations of the site. As per our survey, a majority of people believe we should have a board at Energeticcity:

Over the next little while, we will provide more details about the board and how you can join. If you are interested in joining or you would like to provide more feedback in general, you can always email us at contact@energeticcity.ca or reach out to our Reader Engagement Lead Greg at greg@moosemediafsj.ca

Most-Read Stories of the Week

It’s always interesting to see what the readers of Energeticcity.ca are most curious about. Sometimes it’s a big decision that will impact property taxes, and sometimes it’s a new restaurant coming to town. Here are the most-read stories for the week of February 15 to 21, 2026:

  1. Court Orders Sister to Vacate: the Cameo Farms property in Fort St John. Cameo Farms had previously sued Janet Kelly Baldwin – one of the children of the late Doris and Jerry Baldwin – and Paul Williams, who occupied the property since Doris’ death on October 22nd, 2015.
  2. Tumbler Ridge Shooting Victim Moved: into new “recovery section.” Maya Gebala was airlifted to BC Children’s Hospital after suffering from gunshot wounds to her head and neck. Paige Hoekstra, who was also airlifted, was recently cleared to return home.
  3. Secure and Hold Issued at Two Chetwynd Schools: on February 17, 2026. The secure and hold was lifted shortly after and was put in place “out of an abundance of caution.”
