(UPDATE) Huskies’ final home game versus Vipers cancelled

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Huskies’ final home game of the 2025-26 season against the Sexsmith Vipers has been cancelled Friday, with a new date of Sunday afternoon.

Team president Michael Bacso confirmed the cancellation to Energeticcity.ca, saying it is due to freezing rain conditions affecting the visiting club in the Strike Group North West Junior Hockey League (NWJHL). The make-up date is now Sunday, February 1st at 1 p.m.

The game was being advertised as ‘Moose Media Night’ at the North Peace Arena, featuring showcase games and prizes and an appearance by DJ Moose. 

There was also going to be giveaways, including for tickets to Energetic County Fair and weekend passes to the Big Valley Jamboree. This will not be made up at the Sunday afternoon game.

The Huskies currently have two games on their Strike Group North West Junior Hockey League (NWJHL) regular season remaining before opening up the playoffs versus the Fairview Flyers on Friday, February 6th.
