Three arrested after reported armed home invasion

Three individuals have been arrested by the Fort St. John RCMP after a home invasion report on December 30th.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Three individuals have been arrested after an incident involving a handgun was reported in Fort St. John. 

According to a December 31st press release, the Fort St. John RCMP responded to a home invasion report shortly after 6 p.m. on December 30th in the area of Peace River Road and 111th Avenue. 

The RCMP alleged an unknown man holding a handgun was attempting to gain access to a residence.

“Fort St John RCMP frontline police officers responded immediately and set up containment in the area,” the release stated. 

At the scene, a single victim was found physically assaulted, and a loaded firearm was seized. RCMP stated the weapon had not been discharged. 

Three people were arrested in connection with the incident.

“This incident was an isolated targeted incident where both the suspect and the victim are known to police,” Sergeant Dwayne Croll, the operations support non-commissioned officer, said.

Croll noted no names have been released at this time as charges have not been approved.
