FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — While he cut his hockey teeth in Fort St. John, Linden Andersen will move eastward in the next step of his hockey career.

The 15-year-old defenceman signed a scholarship and development contract with the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Swift Current Broncos, the club announced in a press release on December 15th.

Under the terms of the agreement, Andersen can enact the scholarship anytime within 18 months of his junior hockey eligibility ending from signing.

Andersen was selected by the club in the second round with the 37th pick overall in the WHL’s 2025 prospect draft back in May

Andersen has spent this season with the South Alberta Hockey Academy U-18 Prep team based out of Dunmore, Alberta.

He has seven assists in 19 appearances with the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) club.

Last season, with the U-15 North East BC Trackers, he scored 34 goals with 49 assists for 83 points in just 32 games.

His former coach, U-15 Trackers head Ray Taggart, described Andersen as an “all-around defenceman” with his game “translating to the next level very easily,” when asked by Energeticcity.ca earlier this year.

The Broncos are currently in sixth in the WHL’s east division, with an overall record of eight wins, 32 losses and one overtime loss for 17 points in the 2025-26 season.
