1,200 presents, $900 in gift cards: Toy Drive for Fort St. John Salvation Army overflows Santa’s sleigh

The 2025 Toy Drive – organized by Home Hardware, Moose FM and Strait Group – resulted in about 1,200 gifts and $900 in gift cards being donated to the Salvation Army.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Santa’s sleigh was filled and then some during an annual Toy Drive in support of the Salvation Army.

The annual fundraiser ran from December 8th to 13th at Home Hardware in Fort St. John, and was organized in partnership with the store, Strait Group and Moose FM. 

Moose FM broadcast live from the store on December 12th and 13th, encouraging community members to stop by and donate.

According to Patricia Budgell with the Fort St. John Salvation Army, the drive resulted in approximately 1,200 individual gifts and $900 in gift cards being donated to support families in need.

Moose FM program director Chris Walker said the response once again highlighted the generosity of the community.

“Our Toy Drive was an incredible success this year: we didn’t just fill Santa’s sleigh, we completely overflowed it,” said Walker.

“Huge thanks to Fort St. John Home Hardware and Strait for once again being such fantastic partners, but the biggest thank-you of all goes to this community. 

“Year after year, Fort St. John shows up for one another in the most generous way, and seeing that kind of support for local families never gets old.”
