FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed down from Fort St. John and Dawson Creek provincial courts between December 8th and 12th. 

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, December 8th

Robert Denver Chatten (born 1978):

Chatten was found guilty of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and assault in an incident in Fort St. John on July 29th, 2024. 

Chatten was handed a suspended sentence on both the charges. He will also be on probation for a total of 24 months. Chatten was asked to pay $200 as a victim surcharge – which goes towards helping the victims of a crime. 

Michelle Elaine Jones (born 1980):

Jones was found guilty of breaching a probation order for an incident on April 30th, 2025 in Cranbrook, B.C.

She was handed a suspended sentence and will be on probation for 12 months. 

Stuart Jung (born 2003): 

Jung was found guilty of fear of injury or damage to person or property on April 2nd, 2023 in Fort St. John. 

Jung was handed recognizance after an allegation – where the accused is given conditions to follow – for 12 months. Jung will also have to pay a fine of $100. 

Matthew John Ryan Sweder (born 1986):

Sweder was found guilty of impaired operation under the influence of alcohol or drugs on January 29th, 2025 in Taylor.

Sweder was handed a driving prohibition for 12 months. He will also be fined $1,500 and will have to pay a victim surcharge of $450. 

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, December 9th

Corbyn John Savory Hubley (born 1994):

Hubley was found guilty of three counts of breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence on January 10th, 2023 in Dawson Creek. 

Hubley was issued a conditional sentence of 729 days and a 12-month probation. Additionally, he was also issued a 90-day conditional sentence and a 270-day conditional sentence.  A conditional sentence is a sentence to be served outside of jail under strict conditions, sometimes called ‘house arrest.’

Brendon James Lane (born 1984):

Lane was found guilty of taking or occupying a vehicle or vessel without the consent of the owner on December 3rd, 2024 in Dawson Creek. 

Lane was issued a conditional discharge – a conditional discharge means the record won’t show a conviction if a person meets the conditions the judge sets – and probation for six months. 

Jeffery Kyle Parr (born 1992):

Parr was found guilty of mischief $5,000 or under. He was also found guilty of failing to stop and three counts of breaching a release order. 

Parr was sentenced to jail time served and a 12-month probation order for all the counts and will have to pay a victim surcharge of $100. 

Tyrell Keith Studley (born 1996): 

Studley was found guilty of assault on June 14th, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 

He was handed a conditional discharge and a 12-month probation order. 

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, December 11th

Isaiah Sterling Acko (born 1983):

Acko was found guilty of possessing a firearm contrary to order on April 24th, 2024 in Charlie Lake. 

He was issued a jail time served sentence and was given a one-year probation order. 

Joredean Keegan Andy Henyu (born 1994): 

Henyu was found guilty of possession for the purpose of trafficking on March 19th, 2023 in Fort St. John. 

They were given a conditional sentence for 12 months and forfeiture which allows the government to seize property and assets ‘tainted’ by crime.. Henyu was also given a lifetime firearms prohibition and was asked to pay a victim surcharge of $200. 

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, December 12th

Autumn September Reno-Gorsalitz (born 2001):

Reasonable grounds were satisfied for Reno-Gorsalitz after an incident in Fort St. John. 

She was given a recognizance after the allegation sentence where the accused is given conditions to follow for a period of 12 months.
