FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Huskies welcoming the Sexsmith Vipers into the North Peace Arena to start the weekend has been put on ice.

According to a Facebook post on Friday, December 5th, the club announced the game, scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., has been cancelled with no rescheduled date as of this writing.

A post on the Strike Group North West Junior Hockey League’s (NWJHL) Facebook page cites “road conditions” as the cause of the postponement.

Sitting in first place in the NWJHL’s East/West division, the Huskies were prepared to welcome the Vipers, currently in fourth spot in the North/South division, for the first time at the North Peace Arena this season.

The Pups shut out the Vipers by a score of 5-0 in October on the road in Alberta.

The Huskies will next be in action on Saturday evening, December 6th, against the Fairview Flyers at the Fairview Arena. Game time is scheduled for 8 p.m.
