North Peace Leisure Pool to close while swim club hosts memorial event
The pool will be closed from November 29th to 30th, 2025 as the Inconnu Swim Club hosts its Sadownik Memorial Invitational event.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Fort St. John’s local swim club is preparing to host some of the best aquatic athletes in the region this weekend.
The Inconnu Sadownik Memorial Invitational will take place beginning on November 29th, hosted by the Fort St. John Inconnu Swim Club.
With the action taking place at the North Peace Leisure Pool, the City of Fort St. John recreation department announced the pool will be closed starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 28th to make preparations.

It will continue to be closed until Monday, December 1st at 6 a.m.
“Come cheer on the talented swimmers and be a part of the fantastic Inconnu swim meet experience,” reads a post from the City of Fort St. John’s Recreation Facebook page.
Featuring distances ranging from 200 to 400 metres, swimming disciplines during the event will include backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, freestyle and individual medley.
The event will conclude with a four x 50 metre swimmer relay on November 30th. A relatively small event, the official meet’s program reads the event is capped at 150 swimmers who have already signed up.
