Fort St. John towing company seeks nominations for free Christmas giveaway car
Highway 97 Towing and Mechanical is looking to give away a free 2010 Mazda 6 on December 15th to someone in need.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A Fort St. John towing company is looking to spread some holiday cheer by giving away a free used car this December.
Highway 97 Towing and Mechanical will gift a 2010 Mazda 6 to a family in need on December 15th.
It is seeking applications from those who would themselves benefit from the car, or know someone who is a worthy recipient.

“Our company wouldn’t be going if it wasn’t for the public, people calling when they need it, so we decided to do something to help out the community,” Kenny Murrell, who owns Highway 97 Towing and Mechanical alongside his fiancée Dana Pasichnyk, told Energeticcity.ca.
“Hopefully we can do this every year.”
Murrell has a track record of giving back at Christmas-time; around a decade ago, he made turkey dinners with his then-young son and handed them out to homeless people.
He also likes to ‘pay it forward’ at Tim Hortons by covering the bill of the person behind him in line during December.

After setting up Highway 97 Towing and Mechanical in October 2024, last holiday season he gave away free tows to people in need.
The Grinch will be accompanying the giveaway car around Fort St. John and in the Santa Claus Parade and Tree Light-up event on December 6th.
People who would like to enter a nomination for the free car should email a brief description of their or the nominee’s situation to highway97towing@gmail.com with the subject line ‘Christmas Car.’
