Snowfall warning issued for Fort Nelson

According to Environment Canada’s snowfall warning, up to 10cm of snow can be expected in Fort Nelson on Sunday, November 16th.

FORT NELSON, B.C. — As much as 10 centimetres of snow is expected in Fort Nelson today.

In a November 16th snowfall warning, Environment Canada said a frontal system will bring snow, heavy at times, beginning early on the afternoon of Sunday, November 16th, before easing in the evening.

According to Environment Canada, as much as 10cm of snow is expected by midnight.

“Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow,” Environment Canada said. “Visibility will likely be reduced at times.”

The agency also reminded drivers to “allow extra time for travel,” due to delays the weather conditions may cause.

The ‘Shift Into Winter’ website by Road Safety at Work is also recommended for drivers who plan on driving in wintry conditions to take precautions, including proper use of winter tires and tire chains.

Yesterday’s snowfall warning for the Pine Pass area remains in effect, and now includes the Williston region.
