EDMONTON, AB. — Young hoopsters from the Peace region had solid performances participating in an Alberta basketball tournament earlier this month.

Four competitive teams from the FSJ Flight Basketball program represented Fort St. John at the Good Hoops Fall Classic, hosted by Edmonton’s Good Hoops basketball club.

Flight’s teams included boys’ squads in the U-13, U-15 and U-18 divisions, while a girls’ U-18 team also competed.

Each squad had some mixed results, with the U-18 boys’ team going undefeated in their four games and finishing third overall in the bronze first pool.

The U-13 squad finished with a record of two wins and two losses, earning the bronze medal in their division.

Meanwhile, the U-15 boys finished with a two-win, one-loss record, good for a three-way tie for third place in the bronze division. Due to tiebreakers, they ended up in the match for fifth place, losing to Grande Prairie’s Rise Above Basketball Academy by a score of 56-53.
