Ready, set, glow! Annual 5k Glow Run and Walk race to kick off weekend
The Fort St. John LIteracy Society’s third annual 5k Glow Run and Walk will take place in Kin Park on September 26th, 2025.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — This weekend in Kin Park will begin with enthusiastic runners illuminating the early fall sunset with the return of Fort St. John’s annual 5k Glow Run and Walk race.
The Fort St. John Literacy Society will host its third iteration of the event on Friday, September 26th.
Similar to a colour run, the event features participants donning bright colours to contrast the ever-present night sky.

Entrants are encouraged to either run or walk the five-kilometre distance.
With just a few days to race day, the society’s executive director Danelle Boyd said 172 people signed up to race, with as many as 220 anticipated.
Money raised will benefit the society’s programs. Earlier this year, the society lost around $160,000 in funding.
“We do have a few prizes that we will be giving away at the event,” said Boyd. “The first, second and third person to come across the finish line will get prizes.

“We will also be doing a raffle for everyone who has a ticket. We will enter their name into a raffle for which they will have the option of winning something.”
Additional prizes, including best dressed individual and group, will also be awarded. Additionally, all participants will receive a drawstring bag with goodies from event sponsors.
Registration is still available and is $40. Entrants can sign up through Eventbrite or at the event on the day.
The event will take place at Kin Park on September 26th, with the race beginning at 7:30 p.m. More details about the event are on its Facebook page.
