Fort St. John company among finalists for up to $100k Northern Angel Summit investment
Squiggly Things has advanced to the Northern Angel Summit finale, to be held in Prince George on September 25th.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A Fort St. John-based business is among the top six finalists advancing to the 2025 Northern Angel Summit finals.
The summit, presented by Northern Innovation Network, is a 10-week program that trains new innovators to pitch their ideas effectively, secure funding and grow their businesses. The winning company will receive up to $100,000 in investment.
Shannon Stange, a northeast regional innovation liaison at Northern Innovation Network, describes the event as similar to investment shows like Dragons’ Den.

Squiggly Things, a Fort St. John-based company developing systems to grow fresh vegetables and microgreens directly in northern communities, earned its spot after two nights of semi-final pitches on September 8th and 9th. The local startup will now compete on stage in Prince George on September 25th.
Two other finalists also hail from B.C.’s northeast: Design Time, which offers an ‘all-in-one’ software solution for engineers, and Open Waters Design and Manufacturing, which develops solar panel technology for sailboats. Both companies are based in Prince George.
They join three other companies in the final round: skiKrumb Trackers, TreeTrack Intelligence and Trueleaf Petcare.
Forefront Energy of Pouce Coupe and ProDelta Projects of Fort St. John, which were among the 12 semi-finalists, were eliminated in last week’s round.

“These founders reflect the resilience and ingenuity powering innovation in Northern and rural communities of B.C.,” said Mary Mytting, executive director of the Northern Innovation Network.
“The summit is more than one investment, it’s about strengthening the capacity and confidence of both entrepreneurs and investors as we build the region’s innovation ecosystem.”

The Summit Finale will take place on September 25th from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre.
