Mathews Park bathroom reopened after donations from Fort St. John company

The bathroom at Mathews Park in Fort St. John, which was damaged by a fire on July 27th, has been reopened thanks to donations from Northern Legendary Construction.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The bathroom at Mathews Park damaged by a recent fire has been reopened.

According to a Facebook post from the City of Fort St. John, the bathroom reopened on Wednesday, August 6th. 

It closed following a fire that broke out inside its garbage can on July 27th.

Materials and labour for the repairs were donated by Northern Legendary Construction, a local company.

In a Facebook post, the city thanked Northern Legendary for its efforts, saying the facility looked “good as new.”

Fort St. John RCMP officers are still investigating the cause of the fire, which was deemed suspicious in nature.

Anyone with information regarding the cause of the blaze can contact the RCMP detachment at 250-787-8100.

Energeticcity.ca reached out to Northern Legendary for a statement regarding its donated materials and labour but didn’t immediately receive a response.
