The washroom where the fire took place is currently closed for renovations because of damages caused by the blaze.

Because the fire is considered “suspicious in nature,” Troiano says the local RCMP detachment has taken over the investigation into the incident.

Anyone with information regarding the fire is urged to contact police by calling 250-787-8100.
