According to a penalty summary on WorkSafeBC’s website dated May 27th, inspectors visited a worksite run by a construction company called Lukas Custom Framing.
After arriving, inspectors reportedly observed a worker — who was also allegedly a representative of the company — installing roof sheeting without any fall protection in place, exposing them to a fall risk greater than 16 feet.

WorkSafeBC also reportedly observed a parked telescoping forklift at the site with its load elevated and says the company didn’t ensure fall protection was used for the load, which it called a “repeated violation.”
The company also allegedly failed to ensure mobile equipment — like the forklift — wasn’t left unattended with an elevated load unless it had been secured against inadvertent movement.
The two violations involving the forklift were deemed “high-risk.” WorkSafeBC reportedly fined the company $2,500 after the inspection.
Energeticcity.ca was unable to contact Lukas Custom Framing for a statement regarding the penalty.
