Arraignment date set for man charged after Fort St. John shooting

A man charged with breaking and entering and unlawful use and storage of a firearm, Kelly Shular, has an arraignment hearing set for July 28th.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A man charged with breaking and entering and unlawful use and storage of a firearm has an arraignment hearing set for near the end of the month.

Kelly Shular was arrested on May 12th, following a series of three alleged shootings that were investigated by the local RCMP detachment.

Officers at the time claimed Shular was connected to the first of the three shootings.

Shular had a bail hearing scheduled for earlier this week on Tuesday, July 15th, although it’s unclear on Court Services Online if this hearing actually took place.

Shular now has an arraignment hearing – where they’ll be able to enter their plea of guilty or not guilty – scheduled for Monday, July 28th.

Shular is facing charges of breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence, using a firearm to commit an indictable offence, possessing a firearm contrary to an order, storage of a firearm contrary to regulations and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
