Mr Mikes sets reopening date after emergency repairs forced nearly three-week closure

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — One of Fort St. John’s restaurants is set to reopen this coming weekend as delayed repairs are nearly complete.  

Mr. Mikes Steakhouse Casual restaurant was closed on June 10th after a water leak from a wall in the building was discovered.

Athul Tense, Mr Mikes’ general manager, said the restaurant will reopen on Saturday, June 28th.

“We have done the majority of the work to be open and still need to do some more work,” said Tense.

“The restoration company will do the work after our restaurant hours, so we are good to go.”

Tense said the repairs were delayed because the restaurant needed an engineer’s approval to determine whether the workspace was still safe, which only recently became available.

The restaurant is at 9324 Alaska Road North in Fort St. John.
