Charges laid after investigation by Northern Rockies RCMP drug seizure
Northern Rockies RCMP have seized five kilograms of suspected cocaine following a year-long investigation.

FORT NELSON, B.C. — RCMP in Fort Nelson have seized five kilograms of illegal drugs following a year-long investigation.
According to a June 8th, 2026, news release from the Northern Rockies RCMP, approximately five kilograms of what police suspect to be cocaine were seized as part of an investigation which began in the summer of 2025.
Following the seizure, the evidence was submitted to the Federal Crown for charge assessment.
41-year-old Basim Mansur of Surrey has now been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Northern Rockies RCMP said no further details are available at this time, as the matter is now before the courts.
According to Court Services Online (CSO), Mansur is scheduled to appear at Fort Nelson Law Courts on June 22nd, 2026, for his first appearance.
CSO said the offences occurred on May 29th, 2025, in Trutch, B.C, located two hours from Fort St. John and one hour from Fort Nelson.
