FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A temporary closure at one of Fort St. John’s restaurants has nearly lasted two weeks as it works to schedule repairs.

Mr. Mikes Steakhouse Casual restaurant was closed on June 10th after a water leak from a wall in the building was discovered.

Athul Tense, Mr Mikes general manager, told Energeticcity.ca that despite previous missed reopening dates, he expects repairs to start on June 23rd and take three days to complete.

Tense said the repairs were delayed because the restaurant needed an engineer’s approval to determine whether the workspace was still safe, which only recently became available.

“We got the approval from the engineer on what to do next, so we are hoping to open by this weekend,” said Tense.

Tense said the restaurant should now reopen by June 26th or June 27th.
