Mr Mikes extends temporary closure amid water leak repairs

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Mr. Mikes Steakhouse Casual restaurant in Fort St. John is set to remain closed until at least the weekend.

In a June 10th Facebook post, the restaurant announced it was temporarily closed due to “emergency repairs.”

Athul Tense, Mr Mikes general manager, said a water leak caused the closure and the restaurant was initially expected to reopen by June 11th.

However, Tense said the leak caused further damage to the wall and extended the closure.

He said the restaurant is speaking with its insurance company to repair the damage and will reopen soon.

Tense said the restaurant is planning to reopen over the coming weekend, but it is not clear which day.

“We assume it will be done in a couple of days, but we don’t know the exact time,” said Tense.

The restaurant is at 9324 Alaska Road North in Fort St. John.
