Release hearing for man charged after FSJ shooting rescheduled to next week

A man arrested following an alleged shooting in Fort St. John in May, Kelly Shular, had his next court date rescheduled to June 11th.

Update, June 30th, 2:35 p.m.: Shular’s next hearing is scheduled to take place on July 3rd.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A man arrested following several alleged shooting reports in Fort St. John last month had his next court date rescheduled.

Kelly Shular was arrested on May 12th, following a series of three alleged shootings that were investigated by the local RCMP detachment.

Officers at the time claimed Shular was connected to the first of the three shootings, and all three were related to the local drug trade.

Shular was held in police custody with a judicial interim release hearing scheduled for June 4th. 

According to Court Services Online, that hearing has been rescheduled for June 11th.

Currently, Shular is facing charges of breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence, using a firearm to commit an indictable offence, possessing a firearm contrary to an order, storage of a firearm contrary to regulations and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
