FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A public town hall will be held in Fort St. John this May to discuss how to improve mental health in rural and remote communities. 

The Rural Minds Matter awareness campaign’s town hall will address the realities of living in rural and remote communities and the importance of building resilience for individuals, families and the community.

The town hall is arranged by the AgLife Network and will focus on sharing lived experiences, strategies and other support methods to improve mental health, with the opportunity to interact with the panellists.

Speakers at the event include Mike Skrypnek, author and presenter for the Stigma-Free Mental Health Society, and Wendy Bennett, executive director of AgSafe in B.C.

The free event will be held at the Northern Lights College campus in Fort St. John on May 15th from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

Drinks and snacks will be provided.

The event will come after other town halls are held in Prince George and Terrace.
