FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John RCMP’s new public event, which allowed people to meet local officers, was reportedly a “great success.”

Coffee with a Cop was held at Farmhouse on Main on April 23rd, and officers talked to people of various ages.

“Coffee with a Cop was a great opportunity to meet members of the community in a relaxed setting,” said Sergeant Jaime Moffat, detachment commander for the Fort St. John RCMP.

The RCMP arranged the activity to improve trust and build relationships with residents, one cup of coffee at a time.

“It gave us the chance to answer questions, hear concerns and share what we do and most importantly, show that behind the uniform, we’re real people who care about the communities we serve,” said Moffat.

The detachment especially thanked Farmhouse on Main’s owner, Tammy MacKenzie, for holding the event.
