Fort St. John police invites public for cup of coffee event

The Fort St. John RCMP are inviting the public to their Coffee with a Cop event on April 23rd.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John community has the chance to meet and speak with their local police officers over a cup of coffee. 

The Fort St. John RCMP have announced they are holding a Coffee with a Cop event on April 23rd and will have multiple members at the event, including the new detachment commander, Jaime Moffat.

According to the detachment, the event is meant to improve trust and build relationships with residents “one cup of coffee at a time.”

Attendees can ask questions while speaking to the officers one-on-one and get to know the people they protect. 

“One of the best parts of my current role is connecting with the public in a positive way,” said a new RCMP constable, Caitlyn Rissanen.

“I participated in Coffee with a Cop in my previous detachment and look forward to connecting with the community of Fort St John.”

The event will be held at Farmhouse on Main at 10044 100th Street on Wednesday, April 23rd from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
