(UPDATE) Spring Fair returns to Fort St. John in May

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A beloved springtime tradition will return to Fort St. John this coming May.

West Coast Amusements will present the 2025 Spring Fair from May 23rd to May 25th at the plot of land across from Totem Mall, as has been the case in previous years.

The 2025 fair will mark the fourth time the event has taken place since 2019.

West Coast Amusements’ website says dates and times may vary depending on guest attendance and weather, and closing hours are approximate.

Unlimited ride wristbands are now on sale on the company’s website, priced at $45 excluding taxes until May 21st at 11:59 p.m.

The event will kick off on Friday, May 23rd starting at 3 p.m. and closing at 11 p.m.; Saturday, May 24th from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, May 25th from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

This will be the first of two visits to the Peace region for West Coast Amusements this year, with the Dawson Creek Exhibition and Stampede scheduled from August 7th to August 10th.

A guy who found his calling later in life, Edward Hitchins is a professional storyteller with a colourful and extensive history.

Beginning his journey into journalism in 2012 at Seneca College, Edward also graduated from Humber College with an Advanced Diploma in Print and Broadcast Journalism in 2018.  After time off from his career and venturing into other vocations, he started his career proper in 2022 in Campbell River, B.C.

Edward was attracted to the position of Indigenous Voices reporter with Energeticcity as a challenge.  Having not been around First Nations for the majority of his life, he hopes to learn about their culture through meaningful conversations while properly telling their stories. 

In a way, he hopes this position will allow both himself and Energeticcity to grow as a collective unit as his career moves forward and evolves into the next step.

He looks forward to growing both as a reporter and as a human being while being posted in Fort St. John.
