Firefighters tackle early-morning blaze at Mucho Burrito with no injuries

Firefighters in Fort St. John were able to limit the damage a fire at the local Mucho Burrito did to other adjacent businesses on March 13th.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Firefighters in Fort St. John were able to limit the damage a fire at the local Mucho Burrito did to other adjacent businesses last week.

According to Fire Chief Robert Norton, the local fire department received a call about the blaze at 1:46 a.m. on Thursday, March 13th.

“Crews arrived, we found heavy smoke, and we had a working fire inside the business,” Norton explained in an interview on March 17th.

“The engine crews, they mounted an aggressive interior attack on the fire which really helped prevent spread to the adjacent businesses beside Mucho Burrito.”

According to Norton, 14 firefighters using several command vehicles and two apparatus responded to the blaze, and no injuries were reported.

This comes less than a week after the Fire Department beat back another blaze at a local business on March 8th, with help from firefighters in Charlie Lake and Taylor.

The Fort St. John RCMP detachment is conducting an investigation into the fire and its cause. 

Energeticcity.ca contacted the detachment requesting details on the investigation and did not immediately receive a response.
