FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – February’s bold woman of the month aspires to move through life with confidence and humility.

Madison Tucker is an accomplished and humble young professional establishing herself in Fort St. John as a massage therapist, practice owner and osteopathic therapist, all before her 20th birthday.

Describing herself as growing up in a very active household, Tucker is the eldest of three children.

“Growing up, I played hockey, ballet, tap, Irish dance, horses and horseback riding, and then I got into competitive volleyball when I was in grade seven and I played up until I was in grade 10,” Tucker said.

A knee surgery in grade 10 led to regular physio appointments, and while Tucker didn’t return to volleyball, she was exposed to different medical professionals, inspiring her future career path.

“It kind of got me thinking about what I wanted to do after high school, and I [started] looking into massage therapy.”

When she was 17 years old, in her grade 12 year, Tucker was accepted into a massage program, which she started a month before her high school graduation.

Thinking about her future career path, Tucker enrolled in a manual osteopathic therapy program which she will complete in March 2025.

Tucker explained one of her biggest personal accomplishments was graduating high school early with a dual diploma in her high school’s French immersion program, as well as opening her own practice, MT Therapies, at just 19 years old.

She said she was inspired to work hard by her mother, who also graduated early when she was in high school.

“She’s always determined to do whatever it takes for anything. She has quite a bit of education in multiple different areas that I find really cool, and it’s allowed her to do what she wanted,” Tucker said about her mother.

“She’s always been supportive [of] anybody, and whether or not you’re in the right or wrong she’ll listen and help guide you.”

Being bold, Tucker explained, is about being humble and hard working as well as confident.

“I feel like nowadays you have to put a lot of work in to get somewhere or to go where you want. [You’ve] got to stay humble too, it’s not always about you or what you’re doing,” Tucker said.

“Especially in a line of work like this, I find it’s about the other people that you’re helping.”
