“This installation features ten six-foot-tall, gyroscope-like structures, each offering a unique opportunity to create vibrant cascades of colour patterns,” says the post.

Communications manager for the city, Ryan Harvey, says the piece was created by New York-based creative studio The Urban Conga and is being toured by producer Creos.

The piece has been toured in other cities across the continent, including Toronto, Montreal, Charlotte and Chicago.

“As you interact with the structures, rhythmic sounds enhance the experience.”

In January, the city thanked the Fort St. John Co-op for its contribution to making the art installation a reality.

After the art installation’s opening, the Dream Dance Circus will open on Saturday, February 15th  at 6 p.m in Centennial Park.

“The performers will move to the Formal Gardens, where they will continue to entertain you amidst the stunning Optik interactive installation,” said the post.
