It has been performed around the world since Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky first adapted the short story into a ballet in 1892. In Fort St. John, The Nutcracker is on its seventh biannual production.

Artistic director Shauna Milne told Energeticcity.ca the early performances have already been a success.

“[Wednesday] night was amazing, we had two school shows [Thursday] and they also went well,” Milne said. “We are so excited to bring The Nutcracker to the families of our community.”
