Fort St. John’s High on Ice Festival unveils interactive “Optik” Exhibit
Fort St. John has announced the new interactive exhibit for February’s 2025 High on Ice Festival

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Fort St. John has announced the new interactive exhibit for February’s 2025 High on Ice Festival.
Featuring ten 6-foot gyroscopes, “Optik” will offer festival attendees the opportunity to experience new things with their surroundings as the “dichroic film” in the centre of each ring reflects nearby light.
Communications manager for the city, Ryan Harvey, says the piece which was created by New York-based creative studio The Urban Conga, is being toured by producers Creos.
The piece has toured in other cities across the continent, including Toronto, Montreal, Charlotte and Chicago.

Creos has brought other interactive pieces to Fort St. John, including the LED “Tunnel” at last year’s event.
“As you spin them, they create music, and the light reflects in them in different ways,” said Harvey. “It’s really kind of cool that way.”
Harvey adds that sponsorship opportunities for the Optik exhibit are underway.
The High on Ice Festival in Centennial Park goes from February 14th until March 2nd, 2025.
