Fort St. John Leisure Pool sponsor to provide free community swim days

Tourmaline Oil Corp. has vowed to provide free swim days at the Fort St. John Leisure Pool.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Tourmaline Oil Corp. has vowed to provide free swim days at the Fort St. John Leisure Pool. 

People and their families can enjoy the pool facilities every Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. throughout the year. 

According to a January 9th press release, the initiative shows the commitment to giving back and promoting wellness in the communities of its team members.

“By covering admission costs, the company aims to bring families and individuals together for fun, fitness, and connection,” says the release. 

City of Fort St. John Mayor Lilia Hansen expressed her gratitude to the company for the sponsorship and highlighted the benefits to community residents. 

“This initiative not only promotes physical health and wellness, but also strengthens the sense of community here in Fort St. John,” says Hansen.

“It’s wonderful to see local organizations like Tourmaline step up and support our residents in such a meaningful way, and we look forward to seeing families come together to enjoy this great opportunity.” Hansen continues. 

Tourmaline is Canada’s largest natural gas producer operating in British Columbia and Alberta. The company says it is ‘committed to minimizing its environmental footprint using clean technologies and implementing strategies to reduce emissions, improve water management, and conserve land.’
