Prince George RCMP seize drugs and guns from November investigation

After executing two search warrants on the 2600 block of Quince Street, the Prince George RCMP arrested four suspects and seized a large quantity of drugs and guns.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — After executing two search warrants on the 2600 block of Quince Street, the Prince George RCMP arrested four suspects and seized a large quantity of drugs and guns. 

On November 29th, police were on patrol in the area of Victoria Street and McCullagh Avenue when they witnessed a man setting a car on fire that was reportedly stolen.

The man and three more suspects were arrested were arrested after trying to flee into a waiting taxi.

After the arrests, police officers located a loaded firearm, suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and hydromorphone in the taxi.

“Locating the firearms and illicit drugs prompted the investigators to execute search warrants at the residences of some of the suspects,”  said Corporal Jennifer Cooper, the Prince George RCMP’s media relations officer. 

“Once inside, police officers located multiple firearms, including several high-powered firearms, and ammunition,” said Corporal Cooper.

Cooper also says police found silicone molds that were used to press illicit drugs into candy-like shapes.

One suspect, 39-year-old John Robert Barton Craig, will be in custody until his next court date.

Craig was charged with arson, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property over $5000, failure to comply with probation, and possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition.

The three other suspects were released with charges pending by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
