In April of 2024, we here at Energeticcity.ca ran the North Peace People’s Choice Awards. With these awards, the people of the North Peace region voted on who was the best of the best in a wide variety of categories. You can find the full list here, but we wanted to share some of the winners and runner-ups in specific categories to help showcase the awesome businesses and organizations that make our region a great place to live.

#1: Browns Socialhouse

Located in the heart of Fort St John, Browns Socialhouse was voted the Best Place for Hanging with Friends in the whole North Peace Region. Browns offers a variety of different food and beverage options to ensure everyone in your group is satisfied. They also have their Social Hour, brunch menu on the weekends, and plenty of TVs to watch the big game.

A Fort St John staple, Casey’s Pub is your classic neighbourhood pub. They have Trivia & Taco Tuesdays, Open Mic on Wednesdays, and $0.50 Wings on Thursdays. In the North Peace People’s Choice Awards, they were also voted the Best Pub, the Best Chicken Wings, and the Best Nachos.
#3: Mr Mikes
9324 Alaska Road North, Fort St John, BC

According to Chief Experience Officer Athul, Mr Mikes offers a combination of factors that make it a great place for hanging with friends. They have an extensive menu with something for everyone. They have their Happiest Hour seven days a week from 2 PM-5 PM and 9 PM to Closing. Thursdays are Lodge Nights, meaning after 8 PM until Close all of their burgers are at a discounted price and they have their Happiest Hour menu. Mr Mikes does their best to accommodate parties, special occasions, and any other unique events you may have. Their goal is to always create a memorable experience.
#4: Popoy’s Tea Bar
9916 98A Avenue, Fort St John, BC


Although they have only been open since 2021, Popoy’s Tea Bar has already made an impact in the North Peace based on their placing on this list. According to Edgar from Popoy’s, they provide an array of desserts and bubble tea that are not commonly found in town, but are available in larger cities. Their main objective is to offer customers a chance to experience these treats without having to travel to a big city. They are pleasantly surprised to find that some of their customers are travelling from all over the region just to try their bubble tea and desserts, which are similar to those found in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary. Popoy’s offers unique bubble tea flavors such as cheesecake shaved ice dessert, cream mousse, and bubble waffles. Additionally, they have fused the taste of croissants and waffles to create their signature croffle. The team invites you to come and experience the satisfaction of your cravings at Popoy’s Tea Bar.
#5: Mighty Peace Brewing
10128 95th Avenue, Fort St John, BC

Started by a group of friends, Mighty Peace Brewing has been making craft beer inspired by the region since 2018. You can find their selection throughout the city but you can also enjoy a good time with friends at their taproom. There is aways something going on, such as Trivia Night every Thursday. While beer is their specialty, they offer other drinks and tons of sharing options for the whole gang.
