FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed out from the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek Provincial Courts from July 15th to 19th. 

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, July 18th

Jamie Aaron Brown (born 1995):

Brown was found guilty of assault causing bodily harm and breaching a release order, for an incident in Moberly Lake, B.C. on January 1st, 2023. Brown was sentenced to jail time served.

Leslie Andrew Kelly (born 1974):

Kelly was found guilty of breaching a release order for an incident in Chetwynd on August 1st, 2023. Kelly was sentenced to jail time served, and was issued a $500 fine and a $150 victim surcharge, which goes towards helping victims of a crime.

Karl Luer (born 1984):

Luer was found guilty of two counts of possessing a firearm without license and/or registration and two counts of storage of a firearm contrary to regulation for incidents in Taylor on October 8th, 2021. Luer was sentenced to jail time served and issued four five-year discretionary firearm prohibitions.

Fort St. John Provincial Court Sentencing, July 19th

Alix Gene Bottle (born 1994):

Bottle was found guilty of uttering threats, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and three counts of breaching a release order, for incidents in Fort St. John and Prince George that occurred between December of 2020 and July of 2023.

Bottle was sentenced to jail time served. They were also issued two separate two-year probation orders, a ten-year mandatory firearm prohibition, and ordered to report for DNA sample collection.

Jack Austin Capot Blanc (born 1999):

Capot Blanc was found guilty of driving while prohibited or with a suspended license for an incident in Fort St. John on February 11th, 2024. Capot Blanc was sentenced to jail time served and ordered to pay a $500 fine. They were also issued a one-year driving prohibition.

Trenton Joseph Bernard Rempel (born 1985):

Rempel was found guilty of driving while prohibited or with a suspended license for an incident in Fort St. John on January 11th, 2024. Rempel was sentenced to jail time served and ordered to pay a $500 fine and a $150 victim surcharge. They were also issued a one-year driving prohibition.
