North District Major Crimes Unit takes over investigation into missing woman Karen Tessier

The BC RCMP North District Major Crimes Unit has taken over an investigation into a missing person last seen in Fort Nelson.

FORT NELSON, B.C. — The BC RCMP North District Major Crimes Unit has taken over an investigation into a missing person last seen in Fort Nelson.

Karen Tessier was last seen in the city on July 9th, and the Northern Rockies RCMP detachment launched an investigation to find her.

A few days later on the 14th, Tessier’s black Dodge Caravan was found by members of the public in a rural area outside of the city.

“The BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit have taken conduct of this investigation and are urgently seeking the public’s cooperation in finding Karen Tessier,” a new release reads. 

“Investigators believe that members of the public have information regarding her disappearance and have not yet come forward.”

Tessier is described as a 57-year-old woman with brown hair and brown eyes, standing five-feet-five-inches tall and weighing 177 pounds.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Northern Rockies RCMP detachment at 250-774-2777.
