Taylor firefighter Ray Ensz honored for decades of service

A member of Taylor Fire and Rescue received an award for 25 years of service at this week’s District of Taylor council meeting.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A member of Taylor Fire and Rescue received an award for 25 years of service at this week’s District of Taylor council meeting.

Ray Ensz, a volunteer firefighter in Taylor, was recognized by the province during the June 10th meeting for his continued service to the province and the District of Taylor. 

“It’s never been about how many years, it’s the safety of our community and the people that come through it, and that’s why I do it,” Ensz said.

Ensz has been a Taylor Fire and Rescue member since May 1998, serving the community for 26 years. In his 20th year of service, the firefighter was also recognized with a federal award. 

“I do it for my community, and that’s all there is to it,” Ensz said.
