Local realtor selected as director for BC Northern Real Estate Board

Zara Geelen was named one of six directors for 2026-2027 by the BC Northern Real Estate Board, according to a press release on April 13th.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The BC Northern Real Estate Board named its directors this week, with a Fort St. John realtor among them.

The organization is celebrating its sixth decade in existence in 2026, and represents 410 realtors in north and north central B.C.

According to a press release, Zara Geelen of Fort St. John was named one of six directors for 2026-2027.

This will be Geelen’s second term as director, and in a statement, she said she is “really proud” to serve another term.

“During this [second term] I’d love to see continued collaboration within our industry along with a strong focus on professionalism and education,” wrote Geelen in an e-mail to Energeticcity.ca. “As our market evolves, it’s so important that we support Realtors in staying informed and adaptable.”

“I also really value strengthening the connection between realtors and the communities we serve, because at the end of the day, building trust and having a positive local impact is what this profession is all about.”

The board will also have representatives from Horsefly, Prince George, Smithers and Williams Lake.
