FORT ST. JOHN — Peace River North MLA Dan Davies will host the Senior’s Expo and Luncheon at the Fort St. John’s Pomeroy Hotel to connect with seniors and address their concerns.

Davies will speak at the event along with Shirley Bond, the Shadow Minister for Health, Senior Services, and Long-Term Care, as well as seniors advocate Dan Levitt, to discuss services available to them in the city.

According to Davies, speaking with seniors has given them points to advocate for in the BC Legislature.

“These are the people that built this country. Many of them are pioneers up in this area and they need our support,” said Davies.

The MLA noted that one of their biggest concerns is affordability, with seniors on a fixed income struggling to afford groceries, medication, and more.

“The government should be there to help them along,” said Davies

The MLA expects tickets for the free event to sell out, similar to last year, as half the tickets have already been doled out.
