UPDATE: Elevated air pollution levels no longer expected in Fort St. John

A dust advisory has been issued for Fort St. John due to high concentrations of coarse particulate matter.

UPDATE: The dust advisory for Fort St. John has ended.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A dust advisory had been issued on February 15th for Fort St. John due to high concentrations of coarse particulate matter and ended on February 18th.

The B.C. Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, in collaboration with the Northern Health Authority, issued the dust advisory for the city Thursday morning.

The latest advisory followed one which was issued on February 5th and cancelled.

According to Environment Canada, the conditions were expected to remain until precipitation, dust suppression or a change in traffic patterns.

According to the Government of Canada’s Air Quality Health Index, Fort St. John is at a low risk on Tuesday.
