The committee is a collaboration between the City of Fort St. John, the Peace River Regional District, the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality, and other communities to develop a shared accessibility strategy for the region to meet the requirements of the provincial Accessible BC Act.

The committee will help other organizations remove barriers for people with disabilities, such as washrooms without automatic door openers and videos without closed captioning.
