Behind the Scenes
We are excited to announce that we have two new reporters joining the team here at Energeticcity! If you see them around town, make sure to give them a warm FSJ welcome.
Max Bowder is a new resident of Fort St. John and came from Burlington, Ontario, to serve as Energeticcity’s Civic Reporter.
He became interested in journalism after taking a media fundamentals program at Sheridan College, which led to a passion for writing and seeking the truth.
A quote Max lives by is, “Don’t fear death, fear not living.” He has been an avid volunteer traveller since he was 13, visiting countries such as Ghana, Argentina, Vietnam, and more.
Latest Stories
Max enjoys critically acclaimed movies and TV shows, as well as books, chess, poker, hiking and kayaking. He is inspired by writers such as Ernest Hemingway, C.S. Lewis, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Hunter S. Thompson, Douglas Murray and Malcolm Gladwell.
A guy who found his calling later in life, Edward Hitchins is a professional storyteller with a colourful and extensive history.
Beginning his journey into journalism in 2012 at Seneca College, Edward also graduated from Humber College with an Advanced Diploma in Print and Broadcast Journalism in 2018.
After time off from his career and venturing into other vocations, he started his career proper in 2022 in Campbell River, B.C.
Edward was attracted to the position of Indigenous Voices reporter with Energeticcity as a challenge. Having not been around First Nations for the majority of his life, he hopes to learn about their culture through meaningful conversations while properly telling their stories.
Ed is also a fan of college sports, junior hockey, and most combat sports.
