CHETWYND, B.C. — Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Pine Pass.

A total amount of snow between 10 to 15 centimetres is expected on Tuesday afternoon into the evening in the Pine Pass and Mackenzie Junction southwards, including McLeod Lake Kennedy and Carp Lake Provincial Park.

Meteorologists say a slow-moving frontal system is going across the northern B.C. interior, and heavy snow is expected.

Snowfall should ease near midnight, but Environment Canada says a risk of freezing rain will remain for the rest of the night.

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult, and visibility may be suddenly reduced.

Environment Canada recommends preparing for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions, including adjusting to winter driving behaviour and using winter tires and chains.
